I Am Hoping For Lower Car Insurance Rates

Posted by Anna on August 30th, 2009

A friend of mine told me that she thinks that car insurance companies have it made these days. She said that you did not used to have to have car insurance. Now, it is a law and the car insurance companies can charge you whatever they want based on your driving record and your credit score. I knew that they would look at your driving record, but did not know that they looked at your credit. That is not good news for me, since I filed bankruptcy about two years ago.

I guess that it would explain why my rates went up very shortly after that. I just figured that it was part of the whole economy thing when they raised my rates by more than twenty five percent. I am going to call the car insurance company that I have now, and ask them if there is any way to get those rates to go down. If they say no, then I am thinking that I will have to start getting quotes from other car insurance companies and see if they can do any better than what I am currently paying.

I am really hoping that I can start paying less for my car insurance and then it will make it easier to make my car payments too, if my rates do not go down then I will probably have to get a second job to pay it.

Some Important Facts About Cisco Repair

Posted by Anna on August 28th, 2009

Buyers of Cisco products will often come across the proposals for buying items that have undergone Cisco repair for some reasons or other. The resellers are there to sell the products to you. As the sale goes up they will have higher commissions for such sells. There are of course some vendors that try to deal out duplicate or counterfeit products in the guise of repaired items to the unsuspecting customers.

While the company has been trying to fight out such mischief by putting clauses in their contract and floating disclaimers on the web it may not be enough. Many people do never look into the clauses of the contract or at the disclaimers floated in the print or electronic media. It is therefore better for you to learn few basics of the used Cisco products that are marketed before you go for one of them.

The business model that Cisco follows varies from many others. In their model there is no such plan that allows repair of equipments that are not covered with their genuine warranty. So when you have some non-covered equipment and it fails, they will not be repaired by the Cisco team. Your only option there is to dispose them or throw them if they have become totally useless.

You have no such problems with the genuine used Cisco products. All of them are covered by warranty period of minimum 90 days and anything that gets bad during the period shall be repaired by the Company technicians.

Pseries Servers Are Not Working Like They Should

Posted by Anna on August 27th, 2009

The pseries servers that were just installed into our office have not been working the way they are supposed to. Some genius bought them off of one of those auction sites. I guess that they thought they were saving us money by buying them used. They did not bother to see if they had been refurbished and there was no guarantee with them either.

I bought a used ibm one time from an auction site but I also got a one year guarantee with it. I have never had any problems with it, except for the virus that I had to pay to have taken off. The virus came when I opened an affected email from a friend.

Now the pseries servers that we got are a different story all together. Only one of them has been working at a time. If one is up, the other is down and vice versa. I really think that we should just trash them and start with new ones. Everyone else thinks that we should hire someone to fix them. I asked if they even know how much that would cost. What if something else goes wrong with the crap we bought by trying to save money. If a company does not guarantee their products, you should know that something is up.

I Bought My Sister A Used Dell

Posted by Anna on August 23rd, 2009

My sister bought a used dell from a co worker of hers and it died in about three months. The warranty is of course expired and she is really mad that she bought a piece of junk. I told her before she bought it, that she should shop around and compare prices of used dells online to what she was going to pay for the one from her co worker.

She did not do that and later found out that she paid double of what she could have paid for refurbished used poweredge servers from a company online that sells them at a great price. I had bought my used dell from that company and had been very happy with my computer. She just thought that since this friend of hers was such a nice person, that she was giving her a great deal.

I asked her if she would like to check out the website now, and she agreed to it. When she saw the prices of the used poweredge servers, she wanted to cry. I went ahead and bought her a replacement used dell for the one she had paid too much for.

She thanked me and her new computer has been fine for about a year now. She says that she will listen to my advice from now on, but I do not believe that.

I Donated A Used Sun Computer

Posted by Anna on August 13th, 2009

Our local library was in need of new computers and asked the community to donate some of their old computers. I had a used sun computer that was just sitting in the attic, so I called and asked them if they could send someone to pick it up and they did.

The gentlemen who came to pick it up told me that he had picked up four used sun computers just this morning. I told him that it had been my daughter’s computer but she had moved out last year. He loaded the computer into his van and was on his way.

I went to the library about a month later and saw all of the used computers that they community had donated, it was really nice. There was a big write up in the local newspaper about it and it also said that four used sun servers had been donated to the library too.

I would think that the library staff is very happy with getting so many used computers and the four used sun servers donated to them. I am glad to have done my part. They threw a big thank you party for everyone who had donated at the end of the year. Our names were on the items we had donated. My name was right there on the used sun computer that I had given the library.

Neon Glow Sticks Used in Dance Recital

Posted by Anna on August 10th, 2009

I was making some really cool decorations for our annual dance recital and was trying to come up with a way to make things glow in the dark. I had heard of some companies that sell neon glow sticks that I thought we could hang from some of the props. The girls were coming up with different ways to use them also.

One of the groups taped the neon glow sticks to their shoes and then as they danced in the dark and it was easy to keep up with their feet. They had also found glowing bracelets at a local dollar store that they had made into earrings and also wore.

I was proud of all of the groups for coming up with so many unique ways to use the neon glow sticks. The most creative group would have to be the one which used the sticks to throw back and forth during their dance. It took them a lot more coordination to be able to remember their dance steps and catch a flying object at the same time.

The deal we got on the neon glow sticks was so great that I think that I will have them to incorporate for many years to come. I also went to the dollar store and purchased all of the glowing bracelets that they had so I would have them in stock too.

Mortgage Rates Were Better Than Quoted

Posted by Anna on August 7th, 2009

My friend the doctor decided to branch out on his own and open his own practice. He had found the perfect building that was located down the street from the one he used to work for. He started shopping for a commercial mortgage advisor that could help him get the best mortgage rates.

He has had meetings with two different advisors and they both had let him know that in order to qualify for a commercial mortgage loan, he would have to have at least twenty percent of the purchase price for a down payment. He knew that he had the twenty percent and should have no problems with securing the loan.

The commercial mortgage was subject to a list of inspections. My friend was there for everyone. He wanted to make sure that the inspectors did not miss anything. He even climbed up on the roof with the roof inspector.

The day that he got the commercial mortgage loan accepted and had qualified for a better rate than the original mortgage rates he was quoted, we went to dinner to celebrate. He could not believe that his dream of owning his own practice was going to come true. It had been a dream of his, since he was very young.
